How Qibla is Calculated
The Qibla is the direction toward the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca (21.4225°N, 39.8262°E). The bearing is calculated using the spherical law of cosines (great-circle formula), giving the shortest path across the Earth's surface.

θ = atan2(sin(Δλ)·cos(φ₂), cos(φ₁)·sin(φ₂) − sin(φ₁)·cos(φ₂)·cos(Δλ))
